$115,000 For Impersonating Dead Mother
The imposters - Thomas and Rimolo
The story of psychopathic Anthony Perkins embodied in the movie Psycho seems to be known. A part in which Perkins dresses up as his deceased mother was taken by a New Yorker Thomas Prusik-Parkin. The 49 year old was dressing up as his dead mother for 6 years; and pulled off a scam worth $115,000.
That much he stole in benefits pretending to be her. The creative man would put on a wig, make up and old fashioned clothes. Along with stealing, he was also accused of roping in a relative who successfully pretended to be his ‘nephew’. In this two men scam, the nephew would help him walk and ” talk as she turned up for appointments.”
How did they manage to cheat on government?
Prusik-Parkin gave a funeral director the wrong Social Security information on his mother so her death wasn’t ”registered in government databases.”
“I held my mother when she was dying and breathed in her last breath, so I am my mother”, Thomas said when he was arrested.
The 6 year old charade is over and Prusik-Parkin was charged with “grand larceny, forgery and conspiracy charges linked to a deed and mortgage fraud scheme.”
Irene Prusik, his mother, died in 2003. Dressing up and posing as her, Thomas was collecting $700 each month in her name. His sidekick nephew goes by the name of Rimolo and faces charges for helping in the scam.
