Thirty seven year old Ellen Pompeo who plays on award winning Grey's Anatomy as the character Meredith Grey believes the media and young celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears are setting a bad example for younger girls.
Pompeo states: "We're so focused on the wrong things. We're teaching young girls that this is what they should be focusing on: rich and famous girls who are rich and famous for nothing."
"What are we doing to this younger generation?" She adds, "It's not very responsible."
Ellen also believes that along with the celebs, that the media is reckless for broadcasting that she has an eating disorder. The 5'7", 100 lbs. star tells people she has been skinny all her life and was "horribly self-conscious" about it growing up.
The actress doesn't want younger girls looking up to her thinking that they have to be as thin as she is.
She says: "I don't want them to think I starve myself or don't eat, and that to be like me that's what they have to do."
All in all Ellen Pompeo just believes, "....the media should take this country in a different direction."
