Why Be Emo?

Why Be Emo? Hannah Bond was another teen involved with the 'emo' fashion.

You read it in the title, why be emo? I recently watched a video that Hannah Bond's best friend made for her as a tribute and nearly broke into tears at how sad it was. I was very outraged when I heard about the Daily News blaming My Chemical Romance for her death because they were a "suicide cult band" but I've just come to realize that Hannah Bond was a real person with real friends and real parents.

Emo kids are not bad but they are so full of heartbreak and anger. Why be emo when you could be so much more happier? Here's the answer for most. You're not confident and you have low self esteem. While I was watching the video about Hannah Bond it should pictures of her and she wasn't ugly. Some of her pictures I've seen from the Daily Mail gave her no justice at all. They said her reason was because her parents but I keep wondering, why a perfect, beautiful thirteen year old girl waste away her life because her parents wouldn't allow her to stay at her boyfriends house?

I had a friend commit suicide and I know how it hurts but Hannah had everything to live for. The 'emo' fashion is becoming popular and more and more teens are harming themselves. Why don't teens stop it? Here's my answer: they want to fit in. The internet doesn't seem to be helping teens either. The internet seems to romanticize suicide. All I know is the emo culture is spreading quick.

How can we, as people, help teens stop practicing self harm? It's simple; Be nice. If all it takes is saying hello to a lonely boy in the hallway then what's it going to hurt? The world would be a much happier place if we all tried to prevent self harm.
