Jerry Finn Dies at 38 Jerry Finn was a producer of bands such as AFI.

Jerry Finn, beloved producer of bands such as AFI, Tiger Army, Rancid and more, was pronounced dead yesterday after being taken off life support. Finn had suffered a severe brain hemorrhage in July and was taken off of life support after never regaining conscienceless.

The brain hemorrhage was confirmed by Tom DeLonge at a recent concert and by AFI guitarist Jade Puget in his blog.

At the time of his death, Finn had just finished producing Morrissey's new record and had also produced +44's debut album as well as Tiger Army's latest record, Music From Regions Beyond. He has launched the latest wave of punk, psychobilly and post-punk into the new millennium. Bands such as AFI, Alkaline Trio, Blink-182 and Tiger Army owe him a great debt of gratitude for launching them into the stratosphere. Finn showed incredible diversity with the artists he chose to work with, with his name credited on albums for Morrissey, Nancy Sinatra, Marjorie Fair and Rancid. His career spanned from 1994, on Green Day's Dookie to today, his last album, with Morrissey, entitled Years of Refusal, set for release in September of 2008.

Jerry was born in 1970, and died August 12, 2008 at the age of 38. He will surely rest in our hearts.
