John Lennon Appears In Commercial 28 Years After His Death John Lennon

It would be the last thing you expect and maybe it could even shock you when you see one of the "One Laptop per Child" commercials with John Lennon. Wasn't he dead? Many people would think. The commercial appeared 28 years after Lennon got shot by Mark Chapman in front of his flat in New York.

You can hear his well known accent for the first seconds but with all the technology of lately, you know it could easily be fake. But you're in for a shock when you see John appear on your screen saying the words "Imagine every child, no matter where in the world they were, could access a universe of knowledge," it begins. "They would have a chance to learn, to dream, to achieve anything they want. I tried to do it through my music, but now you can do it in a very different way. You can give a child a laptop and more than imagine, you can change the world."

In the film sounds the word 'imagine', a reference to the famous song of Lennon in 1971.

The American organization "One Laptop per Child" aims for laptops on solar energy for underprivileged children. John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, agreed with the commercial. It is in fact impossible that John recorded the commercial.

In the film you can hear the word 'imagine', a reference to the famous song from Lennon in 1971. To make the video they used images and vocal recordings from the singer.

This, however, isn't the first time companies and foundations are using dead celebrities to promote their products. A print campaign in 2007 used a picture of Kurt Cobain to shill shoes.
