Otep Set to Release "Smash the Control Machine" - Turning Heads?

Otep is set to release their fourth album, "Smash the Control Machine" on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009. The first single, and title song, "Smash the Control Machine," has been gaining radio airplay, something not common for the Los Angeles group. Songs "Smash the Control Machine" and "RISE, REBEL, RESIST" can be found on the band's MySpace. The songs are upbeat and bring the "Shadow Soldiers" minds to ask the question, "Will this album be like 'old' Otep?" Otep released a new sound with their 2006 album, "The Ascension", giving some the impression of a "sell-out" album.
You can't judge an album by two songs... We wait and see. "Old" Otep? Or something even more amazing? Otep has already set out on tour in support of the new album with Destrophy. The tour began August 2nd. Tour dates can be found below:
