Les Paul Dead At 94 Les Paul

On August 13, 2009 Paul was brought to the hospital in White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York with pneumonia, his family and friends were all by his side.

It had been stated that Paul had been in and out of the hospital with his sickness. Given his age and condition, it was likely that it would turn into something very serious.

Paul died in the hospital surrounded by his friends and family due to complications from the sickness, although exactly what caused the complications is not clear.

Upon hearing the tragic news, many other guitar greats paid tribute to Mr. Paul by various means, some include Saul "Slash" Hudson, Trey Anastasio, Joe Satriani, Tom Morello, Ace Frehley, Brian "Head" Welch, Tad Kubler, John 5, and Keith Richards.

Les Paul was born on July 9, 1915. In his early years of playing, he was dissatisfied with acoustic guitars and began to construct his own electric model in his spare time. He created te famous "log" guitar, which was simply a piece of 4x4 lumber with a bridge, pickup and guitar neck.

Although details of his death are sparse, there is no doubt the world has lost one of the fathers of electric guitar, and a great musician, although he is gone, his music will surely live on.
