MGMT - Congratulations

MGMT has currently been working on their new album, Congratulations, in Malibu with Peter Kember. It's said to be released in January of 2010. The dynamic duo Andrew Vanwyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have been playing songs from the album, Such as "Congratulations", "It's Working", And "Song for Dan Tracey", at recent live shows.
MGMT has also been working on other people's albums as well as their own. MGMT recorded a song with the alternative rapper, Kid Cudi, on his single, "Pursuit of happiness". MGMT has also recorded "Worm Woman", with The Flaming Lips on their album Embryonic. Rumors say that The pair will be singing on Jay-Z's "The Blue Print 3", but will not be credited on the album.
MGMT has also been busy in the legal department, having settled a legal dispute with the president of France, for using the hit single, "Kids" without permissions in 2008 at a party conference and in two online videos. The President's political group admitted that the song had been used without permission and offered a symbolic compensation of €1. The band rejected the offer, insisting that it was an "insulting gesture".
In other news, MGMT will be appearing on Nick Jr.'s TV show, "Yo Gabba Gabba", on October 13th, 2009. They will be performing "Art is everywhere." on the episode entitled, "Art".
